SAVE OUR FARMS AND SAVE OUR VETS
Who We Are!
Mystic Botanical Farms is a small, locally and Disabled Veteran Owned cannabis cultivation business in the process of licensure with the State of New Jersey. Our mission is to provide safe, reliable, and premium cannabis while creating an economically sustainable, socially responsible business. We are committed to saving small farms in Franklinville while promoting social empowerment in the cannabis industry and community while being conscious of the disproportionate impact of cannabis prohibition on marginalized groups. We also seek to extend opportunities and education to local farmers interested in following the same path free of charge. Mystic Botanical Farms holds a deep commitment to environmental sustainability at its core. We employ state-of-the-art cultivation techniques and sustainable farming practices that significantly reduce our carbon footprint and water usage. Our cultivation method allows us to maintain a zero-runoff operation. We farm 100% outdoors, by hand, with no building construction needed for the cultivation site. Our plants are nurtured, cared for, and grown within their own eco-system, completely out of the ground, leaving the area with almost no environmental damage.
Meet the Farmers of Mystic Botanical
Jim Wilt
Owner/Cultivation and processing Manager
Jim medically retired from the U.S. Army in 2018 due to combat-related medical issues. He served as a paratrooper with the esteemed 82nd Airborne Division as well as in the highest (executive) levels of the Army. He served two tours in Iraq and one 15-month tour in Afghanistan. Since returning to civilian life, he has found that cannabis is a critical component to his personal medical management practices. When discovering cannabis for himself, Jim began conversations with his military colleagues and realized just how many combat vets utilize cannabis to improve their quality of life and replace Big Pharma drugs with natural plant medicine. Jim seeks to not only help marginalized groups and farmers with cannabis cultivation but spread awareness to the Veteran Community about the benefits of this ancient plant. Jim graduated from W.B. Saul High School of Agricultural Sciences and has multiple degrees from University of Maryland and Georgetown University. Jim holds accredited certifications in cannabis cultivation. He is a single parent, who raises his two daughters alone for 10.5 months out of the year.
Billy Peifer
Owner/Business and Distribution manager
A lifelong community member of Franklinville and graduate of Delsea Regional High School, Billy grew up on the same farm in the township that his grandmother owned when raising five children by herself. In the time growing up on his parent’s horse and cattle farm, Billy has seen many changes within Franklinville, including the construction of large housing developments and the introduction of fast-food chains. While economic development is necessary, Billy wants to maintain the small farming community in Franklinville that the town is known for. The unfortunate reality is that growing commodities can be extremely difficult to survive on as a farmer and growing agricultural products like cannabis, not only can help his family farm, but revitalize the area and provide taxpayer advantages to the community. Billy Graduated Magna Cum Laude from Rowan University and has a Master’s of Science degree from A.T. Still University. He is currently enrolled in a Nationally Accredited Master of Cannabis Certification program and seeks to help his family's farm and improve the area for everyone involved.
